Under the Weather

Things have come to an abrupt halt here at our house. The hubs has caught the flu and I am praying I don't catch it. Thank God for Clorox wipes. I have wiped down every surface he has touched. He is feeling a little better today but we have had 2 days of sleepless nights, fever, stuffy nose and coughing. Is it just my man or does every man act 2 years old when they get sick? I have ran my legs off getting things all through the night and have literally bought every flu medicine on the market. The house is in utter chaos.............he had to go to the store to do some paperwork so I had a chance to straighten up and sterilize. I haven't worked any since he has been sick and I am hoping to get back in the swing of things tomorrow.
Don't get me wrong I don't believe in the theory that man evolved from ape but sometimes things the hubs does makes me wonder. For example instead of getting up from the recliner to throw his used tissues away he throws them down in my magazine basket. This morning I found a pile of them on my new Taste of Home magazine! GEZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ MEN!

A Hungry Visitor

My sister shared this pic with me this evening and I just had to post it! It's of a possum in search of something to eat. Some folks consider these guys vermin on intruders; however I think he is adorable! Lol, I love his big pink nose.
Blessings.

Snowy Weather

This is what it looked like outside my backdoor this morning. A wintry wonderland. We had some treacherous weather with snow and ice mixed. And unfortunately our school system really dropped the ball and didn't cancel school. There were school bus accidents and stranded motorists. We also heard of a tragic story on the news of a local woman whom was pregnant that lost her life. Your life can truly be over in just a blink of an eye.
I needed to do some errands today but I am TERRIFIED of driving on slick roads; so needless to say I opted to stay in. Hoping you are all safe and warm today.

New Designs

Hi everyone! I have been working on new designs for spring. But I had to do one more winter design before it was over. So this is my new snowgirl I just listed on ebay. Seems its hard for me to come up with spring designs when its nine degrees outside! But I must admit I do love the cold weather; not so much for my poor little animals outside. But for myself I love it! Gives me a good excuse to snuggle up with Daisy and Odee on the couch and watch movies. Which is my family's favorite past time; we do this several nights a week. And you have to have popcorn with a movie! Speaking of good movies; I just watched September Dawn and I really enjoyed it. It's worth renting. Hope you all have a wonderful weekend.
Blessings,
Jill

Stuffed Dog Massacre

I hope you guys all had a wonderful Christmas! This was the hilarious chain of events that happened at our house Christmas Eve night. I purchased this sweet $10 stuffed dog toy that sang and danced. I thought at the time I purchased it that it would at least last 2 days. WRONG! As you can see from the photos Odee was waiting patiently to see what Santa brought him; Daisy on the other hand not so patient. Daisy went straight for the jugular and fiberfill burst out everywhere. Odee finished him off scattering fiberfill everywhere. All that is left of the stuffed dog is a empty decapitated body. The other gift was obliterated so fast I couldn't even take a photo. The treats in their stocking is all that remains of Christmas!
Blessings,

My Favorite Side Dish

The hubby and I have a busy schedule for Christmas. We will be going to my mom and dad's tomorrow night to exchange gifts with my family. Then Christmas Day back to Mom and Dad's for Christmas dinner. Then to my MIL and FIL's to exchange gifts. And somewhere we will squeeze in opening the few gifts we got for each other and of coarse Daisy and Odee's gifts. We didn't spend much on each other this year because when finally purchased a big screen hd tv and that was our gift to each other! So I wanted to share with you guys my favorite side dish that I will be bringing to Christmas Dinner. Mashed potatoes is right in behind this dish! I love good mashed potatoes and try adding a dollop of sour cream when mashing them. I saw Paula Deen do it and trust me it's divine. Any ways here is the recipe!

SPOON BREAD CASSEROLE
1 pkg. JIFFY Corn Muffin Mix
1/2 c. melted butter or margarine
1 8 0z. can of whole kernel corn; drained
1 8 0z. can cream style corn
1 c. sour cream
2 eggs
Preheat oven to 375; grease a 1 1/2 quart casserole dish. Pour margarine and corn into prepared dish. Blend in sour cream. Beat eggs and stir into casserole dish along with corn muffin mix. Blend thoroughly. Bake about 35-40 min or until center if firm. Enjoy!
